caterpillars

 

Caterpillars is for our youngest children usually aged up to 1 year.

The emphasis in the baby area will be love, warmth and security.

 


Very strong relationships are forged between the babies, the ladies and Caterpillars. The contentment and happiness of the babies is of paramount importance and we endeavour to achieve this through close communication with families.

In Caterpillars, we provide, bright, comfortable surroundings for the children to play, rest and eat. They have their own special outside play area which is particularly popular with the babies. We love messy play in this room and enjoy getting covered in gloop, jam and paint!! Activities are wide and varied. In any one day we sing, play instruments, dance and shout. We build towers with bricks and boxes, we play hide and seek under drapes and cushions. All the things that we play and do are carefully considered so that they enhance the development of each individual child.

Staff are fully trained and knowledgeable about child development and the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and they are able to provide stimulating activities at the right level for the children. They also know when all that is needed is a kiss and a cuddle.
