Terra Nova Art Competition

 

Congratulations to Big Butterfly Alice Barber who has recently won the overall prize for the Terra Nova Art Competition. Big Butterfly Lyra Partington was also highly commended in the age group 4. Alice won a £50 Hobby Craft voucher, Lyra won a £10 voucher and the nursery won £200 to spend at Hobby Craft.

The theme this year for the art competition was Old Macdonald Had a Farm. Nineteen paintings in total were entered from Chrysalis, the children were able to choose from a variety of materials to create their own art-work.

On Saturday 24th parents were invited along to Terra Nova school to view their child’s artwork and all other exhibits too, in total just short of 600.

The highly commended paintings were awarded to which Lyra proudly took centre stage to receive her prize. Then the age group 2,3 and 4 were all awarded and finally the star of the competition for the overall best picture was Alice. Alice was handed a £50 voucher for herself and a £200 voucher for the nursery – how proud was her Mummy and Daddy.

The other entrants from Chrysalis were Little Butterflies Harry Sheard, Alex Booth, Rueben Thompson, April Moore, Oscar Berry, Joseph Kain-Duncan, Harrison Davies, Charlotte Burrows, Lois Pedlow. Big Butterflies Emma Butterworth, Toby Harnett, Olivia Standish, Eva James, Rhys Allport, Jake Porter, Luella Bartram, and Lewis Morgan.

 2006 – The Overall Winner, Cameron Gray, Highly Commended Mia Pedlow – A Celebration of Spring
 2008 – Highly Commended – Isobel Warrener, Rumble in the Jungle
 2009 – Winner of Age Group 4 – Ben Latham ,Highly Commended Emma Butterworth – Commotion in the Ocean.
