Chrysalis News
Harvest Sing-a-long
On October 22nd all the nursery came together to take part in the annual Harvest Sing-a-long.
Christmas Dates
Here are the dates for our Christmas activities; parties, carol singing, the Christmas Nativity and more.
Grandparents' Day
On Monday 6 th October the children of Big Butterflies were very excited when their grandparents came to ‘play' and have tea with them.
Our Fantastic New Field
We are so lucky to have been able to develop our already extensive outside area. We have cleared the area behind the fence, moved it back and turfed it so that there is a lovely big, big field where the children can run and play to their hearts content. We have had so much fun already on this area – we had a super full, nursery picnic and a super sports day!
The Chrysalis Stone
You may have noticed our 30,000 year old holed stone taking pride of place in our garden when you have come to drop off or pick up your children at Nursery.
It was donated to nursery by the Lawes family. They first joined the nursery 10 years ago when Kathy and Mike first bought the nursery. At that time Becky, their eldest daughter was a little baby. As Becky left to go to school they brought Harriet, her little sister! It was a sad day last summer when Harriet left to go to school, but this lovely stone reminds us of those wonderful girls every day!! Thank you to them all.
You can learn about the source of the stone by visiting www.timecircles.co.uk.
Parents' Play Day
Parents Play Day – Parents came to nursery for a play workshop on Saturday 26 th April. They enjoyed playing and participating in practical activities that helped them to understand just how much their children “learn through play”.
Our Tree in Bloom
Our Chrysalis Tree has now been in place for a few years now and we have kept a record of its development over the seasons.
The slide show gives an indication of the different ways in which its lights up our garden throughout the year.
Cheshire Life Art Competition at Terra Nova
Chrysalis have again sent some delightful entries to the Cheshire Life Art Competition held at the Terra Nova School. Surprisingly none were selected for commendation although the standard was very high. We, of course, believe all our children's work is worthy of recognition!!
